Outbound Sales for AI Services Companies
Updated
AI services companies are everywhere right now.
Some help companies develop an AI strategy. Some build custom AI applications. Some automate workflows, deploy AI agents, improve internal productivity, or help companies figure out where AI can actually create value.
The opportunity is enormous. So is the competition.
For an AI services company, getting clients usually isn't about convincing the world that AI matters. Most executives already know that. The harder part is finding the companies where there's a real business reason to do something about it-and getting in front of the people who can make it happen.
That's where outbound comes in.
AI services are a different kind of sale
You're not selling a product that someone can understand in thirty seconds and buy from a pricing page.
You may be selling strategy, implementation, development, automation, training, or some combination of all of them. The project might start with a relatively small engagement and grow into something much larger.
And the buyer isn't always obvious.
Depending on what you do, the conversation might belong with a CEO, COO, CIO, CTO, head of operations, head of customer experience, or another executive responsible for the problem you're solving.
That makes targeting particularly important.
You need to find companies where there's a reason to have the conversation and people who are in a position to do something about it.
Don't lead with "AI"
Everyone is talking about AI.
That's part of the problem.
A generic pitch about helping companies "leverage AI to transform their business" doesn't give a prospect much reason to respond. It sounds like every other AI consultancy in their inbox.
The interesting part is what happens underneath the AI.
Maybe a company has a large support organization and is looking for ways to improve efficiency. Maybe an operations team is dealing with repetitive manual work. Maybe a growing company has processes that no longer scale. Maybe leadership is under pressure to figure out where AI can create a measurable advantage.
Those are business problems.
AI may be the solution.
The best outbound starts with the problem, not the buzzword.
Your expertise is the product
This is one of the reasons AI services companies can be a strong fit for outbound.
You're selling expertise.
You understand technologies, workflows, systems, and use cases that your prospective customers may not have the time or expertise to understand themselves.
But expertise doesn't help much if the right companies don't know you exist.
That's the gap outbound can fill.
You don't need to become a prospecting organization just because you built a great AI services business. You need a reliable way to put your expertise in front of companies that have a reason to need it.
Finding the right opportunities
AI can potentially improve almost any business.
That doesn't mean every business is a good prospect.
The difference matters.
The right outbound program looks beyond broad industries and job titles. It looks for the characteristics and business situations that make a conversation more relevant.
That might include:
- A particular type or size of company
- A specific operational problem
- A recent change or growth event
- A team with significant process complexity
- An existing technology environment
- A business initiative that creates an opening for AI
- A particular executive or department that owns the problem
The exact approach depends on the service you're selling.
That's the work.
You don't need to figure out outbound yourself
AI services companies are already solving complicated problems for their customers. There's no reason to add outbound infrastructure, prospecting, data, sequencing, deliverability, and sales development to the list.
At hello, gatekeepers., we build and run the outbound function.
We figure out who to target, build the campaigns, develop the messaging, manage the infrastructure, run the outreach, and continuously improve the program based on what we're seeing.
You bring the AI expertise.
We'll get it in front of the right people.
Build pipeline while you build the business
A lot of AI services companies are founder-led. The founder understands the technology, sells the work, delivers the work, and is still expected to find the next client.
That works for a while.
It doesn't scale particularly well.
Outbound gives you a way to build a repeatable business-development motion without requiring the founder to spend every week searching for the next opportunity.
Your team can focus on the conversations that matter.
We'll handle the work required to create them.
Outbound for AI services companies
The AI market isn't slowing down.
More companies are going to need help deciding what to do with the technology, implementing it, and turning it into something useful.
The question is whether your firm is going to be one of the companies they find.
At hello, gatekeepers., we help AI services companies build the outbound pipeline to get there.
You know AI. We know outbound.
Let's put the two together.
